Each order is for one carton of Sommerlad chicken breasts: large 15–18kg, or small: 7–9kg.
A bird of true distinction, Grassland’s Sommerlad chickens are slow-grown for 14–16 weeks in open grassy woodlands, free to roam and forage, developing rich, dark meat, golden skin, and deeply flavoured bones — the hallmarks of old fashioned chicken breeds. Bred specifically for Australian conditions, this rare heritage line offers a depth of flavour that rivals the famed French Bresse, yet remains uniquely our own. Raised from breeding to harvest in a closed-loop farm system, each portion reflects a lineage of true Australian farming tradition. From the Kiss family’s Meramie Farm in Wellington, New South Wales, these chicken breasts embody dedication to quality and flavour.
Breasts are vacuum packed in pairs (skin-on), or portioned into 1kg vacuum-sealed bags (skin-off). Perfect for grilling, pan-roasting, or slicing through curries and salads. For best results, bring to room temperature before cooking and finish with a rest to preserve juiciness.

Slow-grown in open grassy woodlands, they enjoy a natural 14–16 week life cycle that develops strong bone, muscle, and flavour. Outdoor-reared and chemical-free, they offer the rich taste and character of chicken as it once was.

Each carton is dispatched from our Sydney warehouse to the address supplied with your order. Carton weights listed are indicative; your invoice will reflect the true weight of the carton.
Product is kept in a frozen chain from our depot to your nearest cold store. However, the courier who delivers your cartons may use a refrigerated vehicle transported at 0–1°C, which means you might (occasionally) notice some softening around the edges.
